    1. Are you serious???? Some of us have family that work there and already worry about their safety due to such horrible staffing shortages, and yet you hide behind a keyboard and say such ignorant things. Unbelievable lack of sympathy for those who work there and have no control over what’s going on!!

  2. It was because inmates recreation time was shorten because officer shortage, water was cut off, and officers turn the heat up in day room, inmates had started boiling water in the microwave to throw at them. The gangs join together Bloods , BGF, Crips

      1. And if you don’t like the job, don’t work there. Some COs are mean and nasty. Proving how much they dislike the job. Get another job instead of hating. The inmates are people, not animals.

  4. Mr JT, I work at the Civic Center and we recently had a retirement party for one of our workers. It was a very sad experience. Me and some coworkers said it would have been a much better party if he were white.

  5. In Jessup we are short as well, at one facility they have closed 3 housing units and are saying for maintenance purposes. Hogan dies not care, nor the secretary because they do not put their lives on the line like we do. We go in every day not knowing if we will return the same way we entered or if we are even going home at all. We have inmates breaking out if their cells like they did in 2006 when OFFICER DAVID MCGUINN got murdered at the “CUT” MARYLAND HOUSE OF CORRECTIONS MHC. After his murder a memo came out stating any inmate caught jamming or tampering with a security locking device they were to be placed straight on “LOCKUP” SEGREGATION. But now when an inmate does this the officers are asked by a supervisor who has no time in really or never worked the jail did you earn the inmate or counsel the inmate then the supervisor just gives the inmate a few days cell restriction which means nothing depending on who works the building on all shifts. There is no consistency but we have the same policies for all facilities and all shifts. Supervisor make up their own rules based on who they like and in their click. If you know your job, policy and procedures and you follow them you are a problem to supervision. I have never seen staffing this low in all my years and it’s been a lot. But I have attended 3 funerals do to short staffing, and hang hits. But in 06 we were told we had no gangs. But we DO.
