  1. I thank god that the Democrats in Maryland raised the minimum wage I wish it was more than 15 I would have at least like to see $20 an hour. Hopefully, the amount of food stamps will go up from $197 to at least $600. But at least the middle class and poor people are getting some relief

  2. jt, there have been a few comments on your site about 1 particular Wicomico County dept – rec and parks. They are all true. I have to say I’m embarrased to tell people I even work here. The place is a joke. There is a supervisor who makes $55000 a year whose job is to write 2 work orders a day and then spends the rest of his time texting momma. His boss is even more clueless than him – he spends most of his time agreeing with everybody so he can keep his job and then checking out what the red sox and patriots are up to. Their workers are told to hide each day until it warms up and then they can drag 3 ball fields – and the ball fields aren’t even being used. The civic center staff have the greatest jobs in the world, everybody is a supervisor and can come and go as they please. On top of it all, with maintenance being overstaffed the outfields at the parker complex look worse than the rt 13 roadside.

  3. When you are retired and enjoying Eastern Shore living, who cares what the minimum wage is or will be??? We take the Harley’s out and ride somewhere for a nice meal and tour the country side then back home! Aaaaahhhhh Shore life…..I love being an old redneck!

Has Culver and Hanlin loss their ever loving minds?????? $800,000 additional dollars for pre-k crap at the cost of renovations to the Mardela Schools, children don’t remember even being in pre-k, just a babysitting place for lazy parents…. It’s the way it’s always been the schools in and around the City get all the funds while the schools serving the county outlying area gets crap!! Wake up West side communities and pitch a fit with Bob!!

  5. 8:13…..there you go again. I won’t get into my sad story, but it has been a hectic morning starting at five. Reading your comment really puts a grin on my face. I have worked hard many years to get where I am (retired). Only regret is I would love to have had what you suggest, even better I would just quit work all together and eat st the government (we the people) trough. Man life is great today for a up and coming star. Best wishes

  6. I really hope they can start taxing retirement and 401 k. There is a wealth that can be used for the public schools and education.

    1. Ummm, retirement pension benefits, withdrawals from 401(k)s, profits from sales of stocks and even social security benefits are taxed already. If there is anyone who could use some education it is you and other progressives.

  7. 857 failed to mention that if Ed Russ decided to retire today they would have to shut the dept down. He is the person who does all the work that no one else will do. He is out working while the rest of the civic center staff watches. rec and parks could fire half of their staff and nobody would even notice.

  8. We people here at the complex concession stands could care less about what all of you say. As long as Kevin and Bridgette let us keep them big ole tip jars on the counter who needs a cash register when we all can just split it up between us all.

  9. This site has the most unintelligent comments that I have ever read. Some are almost laughable. If they are serious they are extreme radical liberals.
